how to choose the perfect wedding photographer

Choose a photographer that you connect with

This is so important - a wedding photographer is not just any other vendor. Unlike the caterer or venue, we don't show up and provide a single product that stays consistently the same. Each one of our couples is different, and usually we are along your side for the entire journey - from the engagement to the wedding day. During your phone or in person consultation, make sure you connect with your photographer. If the conversation feels natural, you have similar visions of the wedding day, and you feel comfortable with their personality; that is a key sign that they're the one!

Pick a photographer with your desired style

Every photographer has their own distinct style. From the way they shoot to the way they edit their images - it is all part of the final product. That is why it is so important that you love your photographers style. If you want light and airy photos (similar to myself), do not choose a dark and moody photographer. If you like natural light photos, be sure to choose a natural light photographer. Your wedding photographer should have a very consistent style - Pay attention to the portfolio of the photographers you are considering

Make sure they are legitimate

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. You shouldn't trust just anyone with that. Ask your photographer all of the right questions to be sure that they are legitimate with experience and all of the right tools in place. Do they have backup gear? Do they offer a second shooter? Do they carry insurance? Do they have a contract in place? These are all questions that you should be asking!
